6 pack - Week 1 - April 20, 2015 - Weight 85.5kg



3R International Marathon & Carnival @ Putrajaya

This was my best 21km thus far - 2 hours 24 mins. 

Took 2 salt tablets at 9km, a power gel at 12km and 16km. At 14km I felt a twitch on the left calf so I slowed down for a while. The last 2km my legs felt heavy like lead.

I am a bit lighter than previous as had gone low-no carbo since Tuesday. Still a long way to improve to get a sub-2hour 21km under my belt. The only way is to lose more weight so I can't wait to start my DIY 6 pack cum fat loss program tomorrow.

DIY 6 pack guide

I was over 93kg last year in August. I have since gone down to 85-86kg which is still considerably heavy and not competitive. The last 21km run I did was on March 8, 2015 and I cramped after 16 km, walked most of the way back, and finished the run in 2 hours 34 mins. I need to be under 80kg to run under 2 hours for the half marathon.



So I decided I am going to follow the program on this DIY guide to a 6 pack in 8 weeks.
Target to start April 20, 2015.

The idea of trying triathlon

Everything begins with an idea.  I have been swimming and running for many years but the idea of triathlon didn't come to mind until late 2014.

I thought I will be able to view a wider range of gear in the US. But when I went to San Antonio in December 2014 ti was off-season and there was not much stuff to buy.

Any how I bought my first (a second hand Tri-Amigos; a local tri team) tri suit from Solers' Sports store in San Antonio for US$100.
